More of Cork’s best cafés lend their support to a massive bake sale for Gaza

It’s a small way to contribute.
Even more of Cork’s best-loved bakeries and cafés have joined the team holding a bake sale this week as part of a drive to raise enough money to rescue people in need from the horror of Gaza.
Proceeds from the bake sale at Diva Boutique Bakery in Ballinspittle on March 21st (3.30pm) were originally going towards a campaign organised by writer Molly Crabapple and photographer Ed Godsell in aid of Mohammed Rajab and his family, whose lives are at risk from the Israeli invasion of Gaza.
This target has since been reached so now the money will go to two other campaigns instead.
“The first is for Samia, the photo of Samia cradling her martyred niece is now famous.” said one of the organisers Shannen Butler-Keane.
“The second GoFundMe account is for Mai, who is also a good friend of Samia. Mai is a young mother, whose husband was also martyred during an IDF airstrike. She has a beautiful little girl, and desperately wants to get to safety.”
Joining Diva on Thursday, March 21st, 3.30pm will be Wazzy Woo, Hudson’s Wholefoods, The Fishbasket Longstrand, Clonakilty’s Pike Deli, Kinsale’s Seeds Bakery, Rebecca’s Kitchen, and The Pie Guys.
Art for Humanity
Across the road at Ballinspittle’s Chalk and Easel, Art for Humanity will run a fundraising art sale on the same day.
Some top-notch artists have donated pieces for the sale so you can pick up your baked goods and drop by for a browse afterwards.
