Some proper chefs are making sandwiches to scoff with wine in this seaside spot on Sundays

It might be the perfect lazy end to the week.
Cork chefs are popping up in the Michelin Bib-Gourmand blessed kitchen of St Francis Provisions in Kinsale to make sandwiches served with lashings of very good wine on Somm * Wich Sundays.
Next up to the chopping board is Mark Jennings, formerly of Pilgrim’s restaurant, with Sadie Jennings on wine this weekend.
“Happy out to be joining Barbara in the lovely St. Francis Provisions in Kinsale on Sunday, February 25th.” Mark posted on Instagram.
“She’s doing a run of chefs making tasty sandwiches on Sundays paired with a glass of something.”
It’s a 1:30pm start, walk-ins only (no reservations), and a very casual affair: great sandwiches, excellent wine, no fuss.

“I think I’ll bring back my rendition of a brown bread open sandwich (without the farmed smoked salmon) but not entirely sure yet!” added Mark.
“Who doesn’t love a soup and a sandwich maybe, who knows, we’ll see.”
Mystery! Intrigue! Carbs! Booze! We’ve never looked forward to the end of a weekend more.
