Met Éireann details how long Cork’s frosty weather will last

It’s chilly out there.
Wednesday dawned cold with frost and icy stretches in many parts of Cork this morning and highest temperatures of just five to seven degrees are forecast for the rest of the day.
It will be dry and calm for most with high hazy sunshine for a time until increasing cloud brings patchy drizzle to southern fringes during the evening, but it looks like the bitter conditions will be with us for a while.
According to Met Éireann, more frost and ice will set in for a short time tonight under clear skies.
“Wintry outbreaks of rain will gradually move up from the southwest, turning to sleet and snow in parts further north of the region and for higher ground. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees in a light to moderate easterly wind, freshening later.” said a forecaster.

“Thursday will begin cloudy and breezy with wintry outbreaks of rain and sleet. Some sunny spells developing in the afternoon clearance. Less cold later, however a band of rain will move in during the later afternoon and evening.”
It’s looking like the frost and ice will be a fixture for the weekend too as conditions remain unsettled with further scattered outbreaks of rain, turning wintry in parts over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
