Freshly reopened with a new vibe, Ichigo Ichie Bistro just nabbed a Bib Gourmand

It’s a solid start to the year.
The new incarnation of Cork Japanese restaurant, Ichigo Ichie has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
Owner of the Ichigo Ichie Bistro and Natural Wine at Fenn’s Quay, Takashi Miyazaki reopened this month offering a more laid-back dining experience; deviating from his Michelin-starred fixed-course extravaganza and putting the focus on the Japanese art of sharing plates, called Zensai.
“If you find yourself on the other side of the Irish Sea, then head down to Cork to sample the Japanese dishes at Ichigo Ichie Bistro & Natural Wine.” the Michelin Guide folks write.
“Don’t be fooled by the unassuming, mirror-glazed façade; once you enter this popular Japanese bistro, you’ll be greeted by the almighty buzz of many contented diners.
“A relaxed, lively reimagining of the former Ichigo Ichie, the emphasis here is on fairly priced, unfussy dishes that use quality produce. You mustn’t leave without trying the matcha panna cotta with lychee ice cream, or sampling one of their carefully sourced natural wines.
“The friendly, well-orchestrated service team enhance the experience.”
Announcing the news, Miyazaki posted: “We are very pleased to gain Michelin Bib Gourmand this morning! Many thanks to our guests for the great support, local growers, producers, and our team.”
