Peptides are a skincare ‘gamechanger’ for ’24 (and this Irish brand’s got the goods)

By Katie Mythen-Lynch January 16, 2024January 16, 2024

It’s the ingredient the skincare pros are buzzing about.

We all know about the beauty-boosting benefits of retinoids and Vitamin C, but peptides are the newest essential in many skin professionals’ treatment arsenals.

Usually demoted to more of a background role behind other superstar skincare ingredients, peptides are the mighty molecules that supercharge the collagen in your skin, keeping it bouncy and youthful… and they’re finally having their much-deserved moment in the spotlight.

If you’re keen to pep up your skincare routine using peptides, Irish brand Skingredients are all over it: their fan-favourite Skin Protein Anti-Ageing Retinoid Serum (€55) is frequently described by customers as a ‘gamechanger’.

The serum is lightweight and packed with anti-ageing vitamins A, C and E. Used in the morning and the evening, it can tackle a line-up of skin concerns, including dullness, lines and wrinkles, lax skin, dark circles, blackheads, whiteheads, lumps, bumps, large pores, and excessive oiliness.

That’s quite a bit of bang for your skincare buck.

“Like a genie (in a red bottle), Skin Protein grants three wishes: tighter, brighter, and smoother skin. It’s a creamy, hydrating serum to be slathered on your face, eyes, neck, and chest,” they told us.

“Our Skin Protein also contains a pro-collagen peptide to plump fine lines and wrinkles, vitamins C and E, which are powerful antioxidants that help to neutralise the ageing effects of free radical activity, and skin-soothing rooibos tea and green tea extract for added antioxidant goodness – because you can never have enough!”

Skingredients Skin Protein Anti-Ageing Retinoid Serum is €55 (if you love it you can also get a €49 Refill) in Brown Thomas Cork and online here.
