WEATHER: It’s a soggy start to the week with heavy rain forecast for Cork

It’s been a wet weekend.
And according to Met Éireann, there’s yet more rain in store for Cork as the countdown to Christmas begins in earnest.
If you’re off out shopping, bring a brolly. Today, Monday will be cloudy with some scattered outbreaks of rain or drizzle, but it will be quite mild with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.
Rain will move up over the south of the country throughout the day, turning heavy at times, with the possibility of spot flooding occurring near the south coast.
“On Tuesday, there will be spells of heavy rain in the south for a time, but brighter colder weather elsewhere will follow to all parts in the afternoon, as the rain clears away southeastwards.” said a forecaster.
There will be some clear spells after dark, but it’s likely to become cloudier through the night with some scattered outbreaks of rain.
Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees are predicted early in the night, but becoming milder overnight and breezy too.
Wednesday will be a breezy day and it’s likely to be mostly cloudy with some scattered outbreaks of rain.
No need for the thermals just yet however; it will be milder than Tuesday, with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.
