Brussels sprouts get a festive makeover in this garden café’s new Christmas menu

By Maria Wilson December 11, 2023December 10, 2023

Psssst: there’s a savage hot chocolate too.

Prepare to change your tune about Brussels sprouts; Good Day Deli has jazzed them up for Christmas.

The award-winning sustainable foods café, nestled in the beautiful gardens of Nano Nagle Place, has just launched its festive Christmas menu — and the humble Brussels sprout has been transformed.

Now you can order the controversial veggie pan-fried and adorned with coriander seeds, drizzled with a zesty citrus dressing, and served on a bed of lemon cashew cheese.

At last, a Brussels sprout dish that’s not only palatable but downright delicious.

Good Day Deli’s festive lunch menu also boasts Winter Fritters featuring spiced celeriac and spinach on creamy house labneh, complemented by coriander oil.

It’s filled with fresh Horizon Farm chard, crowned with a perfectly poached organic egg, and sprinkled with toasted almonds.

There are special Christmas drinks on the menu — hot chocolate made from beautiful Ecuador 62% chocolate from Bean and Goose, adorned with cardamom cream and crystallised orange peels.

Alternatively, warm up with a mulled orange and hibiscus concoction, infused with cloves, cinnamon, and rosemary sourced straight from their gardens.

The lovely folk at Good Day Deli team told Yay Cork: “We are working with some of the best local producers and suppliers in Cork and Ireland… that allows us to create a menu that aligns with our values.”
