Frosty night in store for Cork with temperatures set to drop to -2 after dark

The signs of spring are everywhere.
But we’re not letting go of our winter PJs just yet, that’s for sure.
Met Éireann is predicting chilly conditions in Cork on Monday night, turning frosty in many areas with temperatures falling to between -2 and +2 degrees.
“Most areas will stay dry and clear with just a slight chance of a passing shower. Winds will be very light northerly or variable.” said a forecaster.
It will be mostly cloudy and damp to start today, with a few isolated showers but the cloud will gradually clear through the afternoon and evening with brighter spells developing and highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees.
Tuesday will be dry and bright to start, although cloud will gradually build through the day with some outbreaks of rain pushing in from the southwest later in the evening. Highest temperatures will once again remain between eight and 12 degrees.
Forecasters predict it will remain unsettled through the working week “with limited amounts of sunshine and occasional outbreaks of rain or drizzle”.
