Here’s when Cork’s new Mango store is set to open on St Patrick Street

By Yay Cork February 3, 2023February 3, 2023

It’s a fine addition to the area.

Spanish retailer Mango is taking over the former Quills store at 106-108 St Patrick Street, with a brand new store set to open by September.

Founded in Barcelona by brothers Isak Andic and Nahman Andic, the brand boasts stores all over the world, stocking womenswear, menswear, kids and teen fashion and homeware.

According to insiders, the Cork store will be dedicated to womenswear.

The premises, which is owned by Clarendon Properties, has been vacant for eight years and it is understood that Mango has signed a ten-year lease to take it over.

The announcement is more good news for Cork’s main thoroughfare, which is beginning to come back to life after a tricky period during the pandemic.

Just up the street, menswear brand Flannels is setting up in the former Eason building at No 113-115, with the new outlet set to be open by Easter.

Meanwhile, a number of contenders are reportedly in the running to take over the former Debenhams store, on the market for €20m. The vast building could potentially be transformed into a hotel with commercial and residential space.
