It’s another roasting weekend for Cork as Met Éireann forecasts 31C sunshine

Welcome to the Costa del Cork.
Met Éireann says we can safely organise outdoor parties and family barbecues all weekend, with conditions expected to remain hot, dry, and sunny for the coming days.
However, with a High Temperature warning for Ireland kicking in today until 6am Sunday, you’ll need to lash on the sunscreen, with temperatures of up to 30C today, Friday, creeping towards 31C in parts of Munster on Saturday.
Forecasters have warned it could get “possibly hotter in a few inland spots” so if you can make a break for the beach, it’s a good idea:
“A sea breeze will develop through the day, keeping it slightly cooler near coasts,” they added.
The last of the mist and fog🌫️ will clear this morning, leaving a hot, dry & sunny day☀️
It will be not quite as hot near coasts, with sea breezes🍃 developing.
Highs🌡️ generally between 25 to 30°C, reaching the low 30s🥵 in a few inland spots in mostly light breezes. pic.twitter.com/LerrL3TK7o

Tonight will be another uncomfortable night with temperatures not falling below 14 to 17 degrees.
The end is nigh
While it will remain hot for the rest of the weekend, temperatures will begin to fall back towards normal early next week. Scattered showers on Sunday will mark a change to more changeable conditions.
Monday will bring “a cloudier day overall with scattered showers, potentially heavy for some” while temperatures will begin to recede with highest temperatures of 18 degrees in the north to 24 degrees in the south.
