Enter Sandman: Cork’s only late night rock bar is cranking up the sound for the weekend

Brought to you by The Black Dog.
Planning an old skool night out this weekend?
If it’s some good old-fashioned fun and classic rock bangers you have a hankering for, follow the crowd to The Black Dog on North Main Street.
The newly refurbished bar has announced a badass line-up of DJs, including Cork rock stalwarts DJ Val, Sean Hardwear, DJ Menace, Irish Moss, Jamesy & BDC, and DJ Lazar.

First, you’ll be needing some liquid encouragement to let your hair down and the bar crew has got your back.
Ireland’s first dedicated mezcaleria, The Black Dog boasts one of the country’s finest selections of tequila and mezcal, which the in-house mixologists have employed in their innovative new cocktail list.
There are pints aplenty too and as many shots as you think you can handle.

From Thursday night (Indie night, FYI) to Saturday, the bar cranks up the volume on its all-new custom-made sound system, built to spec by Toby Hatchet, the man behind some of the most talked-about sound systems in the country.
How late is ‘late’?
As late as it gets on Leeside.
The Black Dog is open late from Thursday (until 2am) and on Fridays and Saturdays until 2.30am too so you can always be assured there’s a pint waiting for you if you decide to take the party into the early hours on your way home from another (less fun) establishment.
A huge renovation project has seen the interior and exterior of the pub, part of the Cork Heritage Pub group, treble the size of the kitchen to focus on authentic Mexican food, smoked over coals on the in-house Kamado grill too so it’s a top-notch spot to hit for that all-important soakage dinner before a night of shenanigans.
You’ll find The Black Dog at No. 53 North Main Street. Keep an eye on their Instagram feed for updates.
