Donations pour in for Corkwoman whose home was destroyed by fire

A GoFundMe page established for a Corkwoman and her four children after their house was ravaged by a fire has taken in over €11,000 in donations. The page, which was set up yesterday by Little Island Community Action, is already over two-thirds of the way to its €15,000 goal.
The page reads: “Carol and her children have always been kind and helpful to their friends and neighbours. They aren’t asking for much but we want to help where we can.”
Photos posted to the page reveal the extent of the damage.
“Carol Delea and her 4 children have lived in Little Island all their lives. They love their home where they have grown up in. Many in Little Island will remember spending lots of time as children with Richard, Sarah, Laura and James, having plenty of fun in their house and garden.”
Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the blaze.
“They will need a lot of support to get the house back to what it once was, a home. They will need the professional help , of cleaners, waste removal, trades persons, so anything at all to help speed this up, so Carol and her family can return to their home, would be greatly appreciated.”
201 people have donated so far, and organisers of the page have said: “The love and support the family have received goes beyond amazing. This is community spirit at its best.” If you want to contribute, you can do so here.
