Five fabulous festive cocktails you have to try (before 8pm on Christmas Eve)

By Christina Collins December 23, 2021December 23, 2021

Closing time is a tad early this year.

But while we might have fewer hours to enjoy ourselves with friends and family this holiday season, that doesn’t mean we’re skimping on quality.

And that’s why we’ve searched for the most delicious Christmas Cocktails in town for you to try before the clock strikes 8pm on Christmas Eve and you have to be home in bed in time for Santy.

1. Head Upstairs on Pembroke Street

Getting us right into a festive mood, the crew at Upstairs in Arthur Mayne’s have the delicious ‘Spirit of Christmas’ on offer. This is a bourbon-based cocktail, mixed with cherry brandy, orgeat and lime served with a sugar and nutmeg rim with a dash of cinnamon for a real Christmassy flavour.

2. Soak up the rays in Cask

Our talented friends at Cask never miss an opportunity to impress. The Winter Sun cocktail is packed with flavours from new partners (their first time working with Valentia Vermouth) and the Irish countryside. The Winter Sun is made with Still Garden vodka, Valentia Island Vermouth, Kilbrack Farm apple juice, soda water, and decorated with a lash of Sitka spruce. A super refreshing drink at any time of day.

3.  Amble up to Pigalle

Up on Barrack Street there’s a dessert on the Pigalle menu that will appeal to sweet-toothed cocktail fans. Try the Pigalle Mulled Wine Trifle, made with mulled wine, poached fruit, port jelly, and custard.

4. Sketch! It’s nearly closing time!

This is certainly one for after work or a cheeky lunchtime treat. At Sketch in the Imperial Hotel, they are serving pure festive decadence with a Baileys Affogato made with Baileys, Amaretto, coffee, and ice cream float.

5. Perch above the rooftops

When you just want a light cocktail, there is nothing like a gin cocktail to really hit the spot. Try out this Winter Berry Bramble at Perch Rooftop Bar, made with Bombay Bramble, apple juice, blackberry jam, lemon, blackberry and lime.
