Cork Jazz weather report: Here’s what Met Éireann is forecasting for the weekend

Cloudy with a chance of JAZZ.
Today marks the long-anticipated return of the Cork Jazz Festival, but this weekend’s weather will not be as jazzy as one might hope.
While Friday will become progressively drier throughout the day and eventually settle into a mild, dry evening, the weather will quickly become much more changeable.
Tomorrow (23rd October) will be a wet day with showers buffeting the county throughout. Saturday night will be even worse, with Met Éireann warning of “a wet start on Saturday night with outbreaks of rain. There’ll be further heavy falls in places with a risk of some localised flooding.”
While temperatures will hover within the relatively mild 10-15 degrees range, Sunday is also set to be a day full of “frequent showers” with “some heavy downpours possible.”
The best news comes on the final day of the festival, with Monday expected “to be a fresh day with sunny spells and scattered showers.” The best of the sunshine is to be expected across the east and south of the country. Sadly, rain will develop in the southwest by evening, and temperatures will be between 10 and 13 degrees.
Even though the weather forecast is less than inspiring, it will take more than that to dampen Cork’s spirits this weekend.
