Watch the trailer for Siobhán McSweeney’s new travel series

By Carl Kinsella August 6, 2021August 6, 2021

“Am I going to the Maldives? Am I going to the Bahamas?”

Cork actress Siobhán McSweeney’s new travel series for Channel 4 is set to start on More4 next week.

The actress from Aherla, best known for her wonderful turn as Sister Michael on hit comedy series Derry Girls, will explore the “lakes, mountains & coastline of Northern Ireland” on her electric bike (which she has named ‘Thunderclap’) in the new programme Exploring Northern Ireland with Siobhán McSweeney.

Judging by the trailer below, it won’t be a regular old travel show, with McSweeney drawing on all of her comedic skill to extol the virtues of the North: “I’ve been told by so many… that this place is class.”

In addition to McSweeney’s own charm, the show appears to boast beautiful drone footage of some of Northern Ireland’s most breathtaking landscapes and vistas, so it certainly seems worth a watch.

The first episode of the four-party series airs at 9pm, Thursday 12th of August.

The show is the latest in a string of successes for McSweeney, who has also been cast in the upcoming crime-comedy-drama Holding, based on the novel by Graham Norton, set in West Cork.
