We want to cover the whole house in them.

It feels like it’s been winter forever, but the energising paintings of one Cork-based creative have the power to blast away a dreary grey day.

Just feast your eyes on this for a second.

This is the work of local abstract artist Tereza Sterbova.

Tereza is a self-taught artist who sells her gorgeous pieces online through her Instagram feed.

There are countless studies that show colours have a very real power to influence how we feel. Red is stimulating, blues and greens are calming and relaxing.

Yellow is the colour of joy and sunshine, while pink is creative and refreshing.

Tereza’s work celebrates colour in an exuberant way – you can’t glance at one of her paintings without being drawn into it.
