Cork’s newest food truck will serve ‘hipster eggs’ and a galaxy of goodies to go

The menu will be ‘out of this world’.
Celebrated Cork chef Sinead Doran is taking the show on the road this summer, setting up shop in her retro 1940s aluminium trailer, which will be popping up in a number of locations later this month.
Sinead, a self-confessed Trekkie, named the business after her first pony, Orbit and the venture is already promising to rocket to the top of the food truck game during the warmer months.
While menus will be confirmed closer to the date and posted via Instagram, Sinead says we can expect “delicious, locally sourced ingredients with Turkish flatbreads, grilled cheese with pickles, and Happy Chicken Spice Bags.

Sundays will be all about brunch; brioche French toast, Hipster Eggs, and more freshly prepared and sourced menu choices.”
Sounds delicious.
There’ll be locally roasted Golden Bean Coffee aplenty, along with hot chocolates and a selection of cold drinks.
Sinead’s relationship with good food started at Ballymaloe House. After a further 11 years experience in the New Zealand food scene, she returned to Cork and took over the Crawford Gallery Café, which she continues to run, in 2013.
“I’m really looking forward to getting out on the road, cooking some good food, and meeting all our new customers!” she told Yay Cork.

Orbit will kick off its mission in the third week of May, serving on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays near the cliffs in Ballycotton (3pm – 7pm on Fridays and Saturday and Sunday 11am – 3pm or until the menu is sold out). You may also be seeing the truck pull up in the city centre soon, so watch this space for updates.
