Cooler temperatures for Cork but Met Éireann says it will be mostly dry this week

By Yay Cork April 27, 2021April 27, 2021

At least it’s not lashing rain, right?

Met Éireann is predicting a cool but mainly dry week ahead, with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees across Munster as a northerly airflow prevails until after the bank holiday.

According to forecasters, it will be “largely dry tomorrow, Wednesday, apart from some isolated morning showers, with varying cloud amounts and bright or sunny intervals. Highs of 11 to 13 degrees in a mainly moderate northeast wind.”

There’s an increased risk of frost later this week, especially on Thursday and Friday night.

“Thursday will be a cool and showery day. Some of the showers will be heavy with hail and a risk of slow-moving thundery downpours through the afternoon.” said a forecaster.

“Showers will tend to ease off during the late evening to leave a mostly dry night on Thursday night with just the chance of a stray light shower. Long clear spells will develop and a patchy late-season frost will form as minimum temperatures fall to between -1 and + 4 degrees in the near calm conditions.”

Saturday will be another cool and bright start with sunny spells and the odd shower.

“Current indications suggest a drier, less showery and slightly milder interlude on Sunday, but potentially turning more unsettled again into Bank Holiday Monday with rain spreading from the Atlantic.”
