Warning for young people after sharp rise in Covid-19 cases in under 45s

The median age of patients with Covid-19 is now 33.
Yesterday evening the National Public Health Emergency Team confirmed that 40 new cases of coronavirus had been recorded in the past 24 hours, with three-quarters of those reported in people aged under 45 years
There have been no additional deaths.
In a statement on the latest figures, which represent the highest jump in new cases since mid-June, Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn appealed to the public to adhere to contact tracing guidelines
“Today’s cases are spread across a range of different settings and age groups,” he said.
“75% of cases are under 45 years of age, with a median age of 33 years. At least half of today’s cases were known close contacts of other confirmed cases.
“It remains vital that if a person is concerned that they have been in contact with a confirmed case or is experiencing symptoms associated with Covid-19, that they isolate and come forward for testing without delay.”
#COVID19 C’mon everbody. This is a long road but we are winning by many measures. We all wish this virus would just go away but it wont. But we can all reduce its impact. A lot of talk about forcing compliance but winning committment is always best in my book. @HSELive

This is a long road but we are winning by many measures. We all wish this virus would just go away but it won’t. But we can all reduce its impact. A lot of talk about forcing compliance but winning commitment is always best in my book.”
