Cork weather: Warm and showery for the weekend (with a chance of thunder)

‘Tis fierce muggy.
And we can expect more of the same for the coming days as Met Éireann predicts a weekend of warm weather and frequent downpours.
Forecasters say it will be mainly dry this morning but cloudy and at least a little fresher than yesterday with highs of 16 to 19 degrees.
“Outbreaks of rain will push into the southwest by noon, spreading northeastwards across the province through the afternoon,” reports Met Éireann.
“Showery rain will continue overnight with some heavy and possibly thundery bursts possible. Lowest overnight temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees with light variable breezes. Some mist and fog is likely to form.”

Saturday will be cloudy at first with frequent showers but it is expected to brighten up during the afternoon with sunny spells developing and the showers becoming more scattered.
It’s still shorts weather, with temperatures of 15 to 17 degrees expected.
