‘Serving and smiling’ – 12 uplifting messages from Cork businesses this morning

They need our support.
As strict new government measures brought in to limit the spread of coronavirus begin today, Cork shops. cafes, bars and restaurants have been taking to social media to let customers know they are taking precautions but absolutely open for business.
Seats have been cleaned and rearranged in line with social distancing recommendations, hand sanitiser is available on every counter and one cafe has even whipped up a free garlic broth to help customers build up their immune systems.
Officials have been reminding us that panic buying is unnecessary, but if only need a few essentials and you’d like to avoid the queues in your local supermarket you could swing by the English Market and fill your fridge with local products or break up your day working from home with a stroll into town for lunch or a coffee.
Here’s what some of Cork’s business folk want us to know today:
Pat O’Connell
In these unprecedented times, please do your best to support small local business. They will need support more than most in these difficult days.Thank you and be safe.#shop local pic.twitter.com/0GYGUDemDP

I have to say..
The camaraderie of competitors, the massive support and warmth from customers and strangers, is making a pretty torrid time, a HECK of a lot easier..
Thank you all !
