Trick-or-treating in Cork tonight? The Halloween forecast isn’t ideal…

It might be time to revise your Halloween costume.
If your little monsters are heading out trick-or-treating tonight, a raincoat or an umbrella will be an important part of any outfit (let’s be real; a black bin bag might suffice for an hour or so).
Met Éireann is predicting that today’s patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle will turn heavier and more persistent in the early evening, with highest temperatures of between 12 and 14 °C.
There is a strong probability the showers will remain heavy from 4pm on, easing off in the early hours of Friday morning but returning again in time for breakfast.
Basically, you’ll be haunted if you catch a dry spell.
Generally cloudy and misty, with patches of rain, drizzle and fog and just a few bright spells. A spell of heavier rain will push into the southwest later this afternoon. “Tomorrow, Friday, will see further outbreaks of rain.” warns the national forecaster.
“Heavy and showery in nature and widespread through the day. Temperatures will range between 13 and 15 °C. Winds will be light to moderate southerly through the morning, then in the afternoon a freshening southeast wind will veer southwesterly and increase strong to gale force at the coasts.”
