She Is Sustainable Cork is sold out (but you can still drop by the Climate Cocktail Club)

By Katie Mythen-Lynch March 27, 2019March 26, 2019

The demand for tickets was unprecedented.

The first She is Sustainable Cork Conference on March 30th is completely sold out, with more than 300 applicants nabbing every seat and even more joining a waiting list.

The event, which was first held in London in 2016, brings together women working in all aspects of sustainable development to share stories and experiences about personal and professional life, the choices women make and their role in shaping a better future.

Organised by Rosemarie MacSweeney from the International Energy Research Centre in UCC, Sinead Crowley from The Cool Planet Experience and Dr Tara Shine and Madeleine Murray from Change by Degrees, the Cork Conference takes place in the Western Gateway Building, UCC.

It will bring together women (and men) working on the economic, social and environmental aspects of sustainability in retail, academia, government agencies, farming, journalism, research, food and beverage businesses, supply chains and social enterprise, to share stories and shape solutions.

Speakers include Deirdre O’Shaughnessy from 96fm, Susan Steele from the Sea-Fisheries Protection Agency, Eimear Delahunty from Food Cloud and Caroline Hennessy from 8 Degrees Brewery.

While the main event is a sell-out, there are still some spots left at the Climate Cocktail Club afterwards in the UCC Bar (register for free here).

Supported by Brookfield Renewable Ireland, Climate Cocktail Club is a networking platform where sustainability professionals can get to know and connect with like-minded people over a drink or two.

Climate change over cosmos? Count us in.
