With just 13 seats, this Kinsale spot scooped the only new Bib Gourmand in Ireland

It’s been a long time coming.
But the Champagne was popping in Kinsale today as Saint Francis Provisions was revealed to be the only new Bib Gourmand in the Republic of Ireland.
The seaside restaurant boasts just 13 seats, but owner Barbara Nealon and her team of dedicated foodies have made a big impact from their idyllic little corner on Short Quay.
Promising a “long emotional post to follow when we calm down”, Nealon, who moved to the seaside town from San Francisco in 2018, said there are “literally no words” to describe how the team is feeling are scooping one of only 20 Bib Gourmands awarded in Britain and Ireland for 2023.

Announcing the new Bib Gourmands ahead of the Michelin stars on Monday, the guide described St Francis Provisions as an “endearing, laid-back restaurant with just 13 seats inside, and a heated terrace out front.
“The concise, daily changing menu offers a range of Mediterranean-inspired small plates created from the best local ingredients,” they added.
“Dishes are delivered from the open kitchen as and when they are ready, and offer punchy flavours and an appealing simplicity. An all natural wine list completes the picture.”
You might want to book that table sooner rather than later.
