This North Cork town’s summer festival is introducing a very tempting pints deal

Might be worth booking a B&B for this one.
If you’re looking for a Bank Holiday weekend plan that combines live music, community spirit and a very tempting pint deal, Mitchelstown is the place to be.
Mitchfest returns this Saturday, August 1st, bringing a full day of street performances, family entertainment and plenty of reasons to make the trip to North Cork.
The big draw for beer lovers this year is the brand-new Mitchfest Beer Card, sponsored by local craft brewery Eight Degrees.
For just €10, visitors can pick up a card from any participating Mitchelstown pub and enjoy six half pints or three full pints of beer – with all proceeds going back into supporting the festival.
Basically, it’s the perfect excuse to spend the day hopping between pubs while catching some brilliant live performances along the way.
Busking and balloon making
The festival kicks off with Mitchelstown Comhaltas Group officially launching the busking at the John Mandeville Statue at 11.45am, before a packed line-up of performers takes over the streets until 6pm. Music acts including Gemma Williams, Honeycomb, The Bugs and Paul Frewen will bring the town to life.
It’s not just one for the grown-ups either – families will find plenty happening throughout the day, with face painting, balloon making, candy floss and lots more to keep younger visitors entertained.
There will also be a Dunk Tank Experience at 2pm in the Main Square, where well-known locals will take the plunge to raise funds for local charity Special Friends.
With live music filling the streets, local pubs getting involved and a €10 beer deal that’s hard to argue with, Mitchfest is shaping up to be one of the best-value days out of the August Bank Holiday weekend.
