Are you a candle obsessive?

Ever dreamed of making your own soy blends and scents? Now you can learn the basics with the help of one of the best in the business here in Cork; Margaret Urbanowicz of Somás Candles is hosting an online workshop on Thursday, February 11th, 2021.

Taking place from 6pm to 7pm, the fun candle making class will give participants a grounding in candle making… and you don’t even need to leave the house to get the required bits together.

Your kit will include everything from pre-weighed wax, candle glass, apothecary-style candle jars and wicks to fragrance oils, a thermometer, steel jug, disposable gloves and labels.

All you will need to take the class live on the night is a pot with hot water, a hob or a hot plate and some heat resistant mittens or oven gloves.

And there’s more; the kit makes two small candles (both Cardamom scent) and one large candle (Lily & Amber scent) so not only will you learn all the tricks of the trade, but you’ll also enjoy the fruits of your labour for weeks to come.
