We could all do with a bit of mindfulness on a Monday.
Now a Ballincollig Wellness centre has opened up its door to locals, offering a free morning meditation to rescue frazzled minds on the first day of the week.
Catherine Hassett and Claire Dunniece opened Essential Wellness at the beginning of the year, offering Yoga, physiotherapy, reflexology, mindfulness, Reiki and Tai Chi, as well as postnatal workshops and lactation consultancy, all in one handy location.
They started opening up the studio free of charge every Monday morning at 7.30am for a 30-minute guided session of peace and stillness.
“We started this initiative earlier this year to encourage more people to mediate and to give the community access to wellness without cost. Men and women of all ages join us each Monday to start their week off from a calm and relaxed space.”
Neurologists agree that regular meditation actually changes your brain in ways that can help you to control emotions, enhance concentration, decrease stress, and even become more connected to those around you.
Not bad for a half-hour’s work before the day begins, right?
Essential Wellness is on Ballincollig’s Main Street. Check their website for more details.
