This Corkman built an Irish pub on the roof of his apartment

He’s living the dream.
A Corkman has made his lifelong ambition come true by building his very own Irish pub on the terrace of his apartment in Poland.
Oil and gas specialist Brian McCarthy invited a journalist from the Polish news site Thefirstnews.com, to join him for a pint in the hand-built wooden shed, dubbed ‘McCarthy’s Bar’.

While the shelves are kitted out with all his favourite drinks from home, they are not for sale – yet another plus for the friends he often invites over for a pint.
A framed copy of Ireland’s proclamation hangs on the wall alongside Guinness memorabilia and vintage pub signs from home.
The structure was built by a local carpenter to a design created by Brian himself. So how, exactly, did he get away with it?
“The structure isn’t nailed or screwed down to the floor, so it’s totally legal,” says Brian.
“I would say that I’ve wanted my own pub since I was a baby,”
“I have the best of both worlds. I can go out with my friends, but when I come back I have a pub at home. I’m living the dream!” he says.
