This Cork pub turned just turned 21 (and we are officially ancient)

Oh, the memories.
Remember when you were young and cool?
If that was sometime in the vague and fuzzy Nineties or Noughties, chances are you spent an inordinate amount of time hanging out at Fred Zeppelin’s.
The Parliament Street bar remains a rock and metal staple on the Cork music scene, but this week it’s celebrating a big birthday.
Yep; Fred’s just turned 21… and they celebrated the milestone by offering their regulars a double Buckfast on the house.

Having opened in October of 1997, the iconic bar, run by Tom ‘Fredz’ Keating, gave many bands their first gigs, including chart-toppers Kodaline.
There’s a 21st birthday bash planned for after the Jazz Weekend, but if you fancy a blast from the past this Saturday and Sunday, the Rory Gallagher tribute act Sinnerboy play live at 6pm on both days (tickets here).

There has been a pub at this address since 1825, so fingers crossed Fred’s will keep on rocking for generations to come.
