This campsite is hosting a reggae barbecue party (and you can pitch a tent for a tenner)

Craving one last hoolie before autumn sets in?
Electric Picnic might be sold out, but down in Durrus there’s an affordable little shindig happening this September and it might satisfy your urge to party under the stars.
Rubadub Durrus is a one-day reggae mini-festival taking place at Dunbeacon Camping and Glamping Campsite, 5km outside the West Cork village on Saturday, September 9th, 2023.
The BYOB event kicks off at 4pm with guest DJs, afternoon beats, and a barbecue. An open mic session will follow (feel free to perform a song, recite a poem, or tell a joke) before DJ Bellyman takes over from 9pm until late.
“Join us for a party to celebrate the last of the summer vibes.” said the organisers on Facebook.
“Stay with us for the princely sum of €10 per person camping. You don’t camp? You don’t pay.”

The campsite is set amongst native mature trees and shrubs as well as a bubbling stream with a small waterfall and boasts views of the Atlantic Ocean. There’s loads to explore in the area and it’s also just a short spin from Ballydehob, Schull, and Bantry.
