Sourcing your Christmas gifts locally just got easier.

A Cork artist has released a series of colourful prints celebrating some of Cork’s best coffee shops and cafés – and they’re ideal for sending to your mates and family members, especially if they’re missing their favourite city spots during the lockdown.

Illustrator and designer Shelley Trinder (24) has immortalised many of our favourite haunts in bold primary colours, sharing her work via her Akalashell Instagram feed.

“I chose to do the cafés because I think coffee culture has become so integrated into Cork’s culture itself in the last few years, everyone can feel some sort of connection to that one café they can always rely on,” Shelley told Yay Cork.

“It feels like a piece of their day-to-day life.”

The Bookshelf, Soma, Cork Coffee Roasters, Alchemy, Filter, Good Day Deli and Good for the Soul are all among the cafés to be featured in Shelley’s bold and beautiful series.

We think they’d look amazing lined up as a trio in a hallway or kitchen.

You can order a print of your favourite haunt via Instagram here from €30. Shelley also takes commissions so if your spot isn’t on the list already, you could ask her to create something special just for you.
