These adorable tiny houses are built on wheels (and they start at €17k)

Working from home this month?
If clocking in remotely during the Covid-19 lockdown has shown you that your job could potentially be done from anywhere in the country, you’re probably whiling away the days checking out seaside apartments and Airbnb options for when things go back to normal.
With the new gusto for everything tiny house related, however, one company has come up with a unique way to ensure you never need to move house again; Tiny Eco Homes UK build stylish, durable dwellings you can take with you.
From the outside, they look like rustic country cottages. Inside, however, these tiny homes are decked out with everything you need for modern living, from solar panels and wood-burning stoves for electricity and heat to staircase storage, steam spa showers, double beds and cosy corner sofas.
Hit the road (and travel across Europe)
The best bit? They’re built on a fully galvanised chassis capable of carrying a gross weight of 3500kg. This road legal trailer comes with a type-approved EU certificate so it can be used throughout Europe as well as the UK.
“We have been building mobile bars and catering trailers for many years and spotted a gap in the market for a fully towable mobile home.” says owner Chris March.
“The first step of our journey began when we started to work on a custom made chassis designed specifically for towing a mobile home, the chassis is the most crucial part to ensure that it is up to the job of towing a fully built house on wheels.
“From there we have expanded to build custom-designed tiny homes for customers across UK and Europe, adding our Elegance range to our initial traditional range.”
What do they cost?
Built at the company’s workshop in Northumberland, Tiny Eco Homes UK have three ranges available; Traditional; Elegance and Elegance Grand, each one built to the client’s spec and delivered anywhere in Europe.
Unlike other tiny homes, which are handy in a pinch but don’t go the distance, this company say their construction is good for between 40 and 50 years.
Fancy getting stuck into a bit of DIY? Order an 18ft empty shell from €16,960 and fit it out yourself.
If you want to move in immediately, the standard Traditional Tiny home is around €34,000, fully finished,
Want to impress the neighbours? The Tiny Eco Homes UK Elegance Range of tiny homes are 7m x 2.55m and come complete with some impressive features for a road towable tiny house.
These boast two large upstairs bedrooms with full head height (a master bedroom with king-size bed and a second bedroom with two single beds and a star-gazing window) a large bathroom with spa shower and jacuzzi bath and an electric flushing cassette toilet.
With a fully fitted kitchen, weathered oak flooring and under floor heating as well as grey Georgian style double glazed windows, the Elegance range starts at around €43k, running all the way up to €62,000 for the Elegance Grand, a 23-foot tiny home that wouldn’t look out of place on a fancy estate.
The Elegance Grand has a staircase, landing, a Belfast sink and enough space for a dishwasher and washing machine, making it a perfect tiny house for full-time living.
