There’s a new late-night event for unfinished ideas and creative experiments

Cork creatives are being invited to ditch perfection for one night this Culture Night.
A brand new event called SCRATCH! is coming to the CTC Studio at Triskel Arts Centre on Friday, September 18th, offering artists a chance to test out new ideas, unfinished work and creative experiments in front of a live audience.
Taking place from 10pm as part of Culture Night Lates, the event is a collaboration between Cork Fringe Festival, Cork Theatre Collective and Cork’s Night-Time Economy initiative.
The concept is refreshingly simple: bring your unfinished ideas.
From theatre and comedy to music, spoken word, dance and performance art, SCRATCH! will operate like an open-mic night for creatives, giving artists the chance to take risks without the pressure of delivering a perfectly polished performance.

In other words, if you’ve been sitting on a strange idea that you’re not entirely sure will work, this might be the place to find out.
Cork Fringe Festival Directors said the event is open to everyone from experienced performers with ambitious new concepts to emerging artists trying something for the very first time.
“We want audiences in Cork to get a chance to see artists take risks, push boundaries and truly experiment,” said Zoe from Cork Theatre Collective.
And audiences don’t need to perform to get involved either. Those curious to see what Cork’s creative community has been working on can simply come along and enjoy whatever happens.
SCRATCH! takes place at 10pm on Friday, September 18th at the CTC Studio in Triskel Arts Centre.
Artists interested in performing can register their interest through Cork Fringe Festival.
