The Vintage Tea Bus is returning to Cork for a whole weekend this autumn

Covid-19 put the brakes on the fun for a little while.
But Ireland’s favourite travelling afternoon tea location is back with a new socially-distanced layout… and it’s pulling up in Cork this autumn.
The Vintage Tea Trips 1960s Routemaster bus is based in Dublin, but it will be making its third trip to pick up Leeside ladies and gents on Friday, October 9th, Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th, 2020.
The fun-filled spin around Cork will take you past some of the best views, all while tucking into dainty finger sandwiches, gorgeous cakes and warm scones with fresh cream and lashings of tea (served in a special travel mug).
“It’s been an incredibly difficult time for us at Vintage Tea Trips.” owner Karen Nixon told Yay Cork.
“We were closed for over three months. We reopened on July 11th and the feedback from guests has been brilliant. While our faces may be covered, we haven’t lost the ability to have the craic on board. The hosts have mastered the art of smising,”
For the Autumn Adventure in Cork, the team will be doing things a little differently to ensure the health and safety of staff and guests. Vintage Tea Trips will be running a reduced occupancy with increased cleaning and disinfecting taking place on and between trips.
Tickets will be sold as tables of twos (€95) and fours (€190) in order to comply with social distancing.
Happily; all the best stuff stays the same… the mouthwatering afternoon menu will once again be made fresh by Mags from The Pastry Fork each morning and Vintage Tea Trips are partnering up with the Maldron Hotel South Mall to offer guests a glass of bubbles for €6 post tour. B&B packages are also available if you want to make a weekend of it.
The Cork Autumn Adventure will be running 11am, 1.15pm and 3.30pm on Friday, October 9th – Sunday, October 11th. Pick up and drop off will be at the Maldron Hotel South Mall. Places are limited so book your tickets here.
