Six Cork chefs are teaming up on a VERY fancy food box for the CBA President’s Dinner

By Yay Cork March 18, 2021March 29, 2021

It might be the only black-tie affair of 2021.

And this year, you won’t even need book a babysitter or arrange a taxi; the Cork Business of the Year Awards and President’s Dinner will be taking place at your house, complete with a gourmet meal whipped up by six Cork chefs.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin will make an address to Cork’s business community at the event, which takes place virtually on April 17th.

And to make the evening even more special, chefs from the Metropole, the Imperial, the Cork International, the Kingsley, Nash19, and Vienna Woods have agreed to create one course each as part of an extravagant dine-at-home experience for two, available for collection from The Imperial Hotel on the day.

The mouthwatering menu includes carpaccio of Waterfall farm beetroot from The Metropole chefs, Ballycotton seared scallops and crab remoulade from The Imperial, locally foraged nettle soup from the Cork International Hotel and West Cork Angus filet of beef wellington from The Kingsley.

Dessert is a locally-grown rhubarb and rosewater posset with gingerella and pistachio crumb, cherry flake and apple blossom syrup, made at Cork’s Vienna Woods, while Nash 19 will be curating a cheeseboard of mature Gubbeen and Ash Ardsallagh goats cheese and fig confit, with soda bread and sourdough from the Alternative Bread Company – all washed down with Champagne sponsored by Centra.

Each course will be paired with Champagne and wine and guests will finish the meal with an Irish coffee made with local Jameson Whiskey from the Shelbourne Bar, Maher’s Fairtrade Coffee and Glounn Cross cream.

“This is a sharing dinner for two and is the perfect way to say thank-you to your team who have put down an extraordinary year, as behind every good employee is a great partner or friend. We hope the night will give everyone a much-needed lift,” said President of the Cork Business Association Eoin O’Sullivan.

The Taste of the City at Home culinary experience is €190 for two people sharing (we told you it was fancy) and you can call 021 427 8295 or email info@corkbusiness.ie to book your collection slot.
