Roads will be closed for improvements in this part of town on Thursday night

The VQ is getting a facelift.
And like any major city improvement, it’s going to take some serious work to complete.
Cork City Council has announced that MacCurtain Street and some surrounding roads will be closed this Thursday night, November 9th while crews complete some much-needed resurfacing.
The temporary measures will affect motorists after dark, so it’s worth taking note if you’re driving to or from work late on Thursday:
- Brian Boru Street: Diversions in place from 9.30pm
- MacCurtain Street: Diversions in place from 11.30pm
- Summerhill North: Diversions in place from 11.30pm
“Night-time road closures will take place this week to facilitate road resurfacing as part of the completion of the MacCurtain Street Public Transport Improvement Scheme.” said a spokesperson for Cork City Council.
