New York Times writer and comedian Maeve Higgins is hosting a free writing workshop

There are only ten places available.
But participants in an upcoming creative non-fiction writing workshop series will enjoy a six-week exploration of memoir, personal essay, literary journalism and cultural commentary later his month.
Home Truths with Cobh native, comedian, actress and writer Maeve Higgins is presented by Cork County Council Library & Arts Service and Creative Ireland.
Kicking off on March 15th, 2021, the series is for Cork people living abroad and people from abroad living in Cork.
Maeve, contributing opinion writer with The New York Times and author of three essay collections, will facilitate the fun workshops, covering themes such as migration, home and belonging in a creative, collaborative and engaging way.
“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to connect with other Irish writers of all levels,” said Maeve.
“Creative non-fiction has been a wonderful path through curiosity to self-expression for me.”
The workshop will be made up of ten participants, selected by the facilitator and the Cork County Council Library and Arts Service, based on a questionnaire. To submit your application, fill in your details here.
