More than 400 cycling Santas will be gathering at Goldberg’s on December 1st

Santas assemble.
The first official Santa gig of the season is upon us; the annual RDJ Cork Santa Cycle takes place on Sunday, December 1st, 2019.
This year’s event, sponsored by Ronan Daly Jermyn Solicitors, will be live outside Goldberg’s from 6pm, with a Christmas atmosphere and elves selling raffle tickets while cyclists (over 18s only) register for their Santa suits, fairy lights and battery pick-up between 4pm and 5.30pm.
Once everyone’s registered, the merry gang will set off on a 7km night time bike ride around Cork City to raise funds for Straight Ahead, an organisation that funds orthopaedic operations for children who otherwise face long periods on waiting lists.
“If you are driving to the event, please park on the main docks area as the area around Goldberg’s will be fenced off for cyclists.” say organisers.
“Ensure that you have normal lights on your bike and your helmet with you. Remember that we will be cycling at night on open roads so normal rules of the road apply.”
