Learn how to needle felt your own Christmas decorations at this festive fundraiser

It’s a lovely excuse to learn a new skill.
Needle felting artist Emily Thompson is joining Yana, the East Cork Domestic Violence Project, to host a night of crafting and chatting in Killeagh on Friday, December 1st, 2023.
During the event, Emily, a skilled textile artist who specialises in needle felting and embroidery art, will guide participants in creating an ornament to mark the Christmas period and be a symbol of domestic violence awareness.
“While creating, Yana staff will guide the discussion in order to provide information as well as, spread awareness and understanding around domestic violence.” the organisers told us.

“Topics covered could include; how to support family or friends, gender-based violence in the media, and Red Flags vs. Green Flags in relationships.
“Participants will leave with their completed craft and a greater understanding of the complexities of gender-based violence.”
The event will take place on December 1st from 6pm to 8pm at Greywood Arts Creative Hub on Main Street, Killeagh and all proceeds will go to supporting the work of Yana locally.
Tickets are €50 here.
