Planning your spring getaways?
If a couple of nights surrounded by an idyllic countryside garden sounds like your cup of tea, there’s an adorable and unique West Cork property that might fit the bill.
Set in its own private garden, this comfortable Shepherd’s Hut near Howe Strand, a quaint beach near Kilbrittain, has everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing retreat.
Hidden in an enclave in the four acres of private garden and woodland that make up this 18th Century property, guests are free to enjoy the comfort and seclusion, go on coastal walks, and strike out to the nearby towns of Kinsale, Bandon, and Clonakilty.
Inside the hut, you’ll find a sweet little kitchen, a comfy double bed and a bathroom complete with a shower.
The property is on Airbnb’s Guest Favourite list and previous visitors rave about the place:
“The hut itself is beautiful with the layout being really well considered.” said UK-based guest Jenny.
“The bed is very comfortable and the hut itself is surprisingly warm. There is a barbecue outside, which we made good use of, and the hut is situated in its own garden so we were able to eat outside comfortably and felt we had the place entirely to ourselves apart from the odd visit from Kate’s very friendly and placid dog.
“The hut as all the amenities you’d need and my Sicilian fiancé was delighted to find a cafetiere with decent coffee.”
Other guests were thrilled to be treated to a loaf of fresh bread and homemade jam on arrival and all enjoyed the peaceful site, a treat to return to after a busy day of sighseeing.
The Shepherd’s Hut is €119 per night and you can check upcoming available dates here.
