Feeling frazzled? Find your chill at this brand new beach sauna in Garretstown

By Katie Mythen-Lynch October 30, 2021October 29, 2021

Loooong week?

Yep; we hear ya. If, like us, you are still recovering from the Jazz Fest, you’ll likely be in the market for some laid-back, soothing activities this weekend.

With that in mind, pack your togs and towel and head for the coast; there’s a brand new mobile sauna open for business on Garretstown Beach and we can’t think of anything more revitalising than a toasty steam followed by a bracing dip in the sea.

The Wild Wellness Mobile Sauna opened at the start of the month in Garretstown, inviting visitors to use sauna heat to relax the body’s muscles, improve circulation and stimulate the release of endorphins, the body’s all-natural ‘feel good’ chemical, every weekend.

And there’s another benefit to be had too:

“The health benefits saunas are by no doubt remarkable. However, another benefit, the social benefit is rarely talked about, it’s actually quite important.” say the Wild Wellness Collective.

“The sauna can be a private, personal area of relaxation and solitude. However, it can just as easily be a relaxing environment for socialising with family, friends and soon-to-be friends. The sauna environment is conducive to open, intimate and quiet conversation.

“It’s been truly heartwarming to see a person enter a session by themselves, within 20 mins they emerge with someone, headed for the sea, chatting, laughing and playing in the waves.”
