The public has voted
The awards, which are organised by Cork Business Association and supported by Cork City Council, are judged by an independent panel of experts in business heritage, planning and placemaking: Lawrence Owens, past President of the Cork Business Association; Shane Clarke, Director, Garden City Culture; Ashleigh Murray, Conservation Officer, Cork City Council and Gwen Jordan, Senior Executive Planner, Cork City Council.
As well as direct nominations, members of the public have put forward buildings that they believe make the city of Cork proud. As a result, the finalists represent a diverse mix of multinational, national, and independent businesses.
“Good housekeeping and the upkeep and maintenance of properties has a significant influence on the ambiance of the city and the overall well-being of the community environment,” said Owens.
“This is something that resonates with all the serving judges and will be at the forefront of our decision-making. The number of submissions increased again this year and the judging of each category will be keenly debated in the coming days,” he added.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in The Metropole Hotel, MacCurtain Street, on November 17th, 2023. As well as the nine categories, a special Judges Choice will be revealed on the day.
