Travelling home for Christmas?

Bus Éireann has announced its timetables for Christmas 2019 and New Year 2020, confirming details of services available nationwide over the festive season.

The good news is that buses will run every day across the Christmas holiday period – apart from Christmas Day, December 25th – with services operating on standard timetables with some slight exceptions.

Bus Éireann have added additional late-night services to Midleton and Blarney on Route 215 and 261 on Friday, December 13th, Saturday, December 14th, Friday, December 20th and Saturday, December 21st, 2019. The pick-up is from St Patrick’s Street only and services will depart to Midleton and Blarney at 1am, 2am and 3am – ideal for getting home after the Christmas party in town.

Last-minute shoppers are well catered for too; the annual Seasonal Park & Ride from County Hall operates every 15 minutes from 09.30am to 8.15pm on Saturday and 10.45am to 8.30pm on Sundays until December 22nd. On Sunday, December 23rd it will close at 6.30pm.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve all departures up to 9pm will operate to a normal timetable, apart from the following routes, which will not operate:

• Route X1 – 1945 Belfast-Dublin
• Route 2 – 2100 Dublin Airport-Wexford; 1830 & 2030 Wexford-Dublin Airport
• Route 4 – 2000 Waterford-Dublin
• Route 23 – 2000 Dublin-Sligo
• Route 32 – 2045 Dublin-Letterkenny; 1945 Letterkenny-Dublin
• Route 100X – 2030 Dundalk-Dublin
• Route 871/890 – Expressway Eurolines services to and from London

St Stephen’s Day, December 26th

Cabin fever setting in? Not to worry; a full Sunday schedule will operate across the entire network on December 26th, excluding the below departures, which will not operate.

• Route X2A – 1015, 1615, 1715 & 1915 Dublin-Belfast; 0645 & 1445 Belfast-Dublin

December 27th to New Year’s Eve

A full regular schedule of services will operate on all routes from December 27th to December 30th inclusive. On New Year’s Eve, December 31st all services will be running on a normal timetable up until 10pm.
