Ballincollig’s Regional Park is getting two new bridges and another path for walkers

You’ll be able to add a new route to your Regional Park walk soon.
The Ballincollig amenity is expanding once again, with two new pedestrian bridges and a boardwalk to be built, along with another 850m of gravel and tarmac footpath.
New benches and bins will also be installed.
According to Echo Live, the proposed new route will run through the Gunpowder Mills complex at the eastern edge of the current park, running along the southern bank of the River Lee adjacent to Willow Court.
The path will end at a privately-developed amenity park at the Fionn Laoi estate.
One of the new bridges will be built near the Ballincollig GAA Club entrance to the Regional Park.
Cork City Council has put the project out to tender until the end of the month.
