A first look inside Cork’s brand new Rooftop Farm store

A brilliant addition to the city.
Cork Rooftop Farm’s first store threw open its doors yesterday and is ready to supply the people of Cork with fresh produce from the rooftop, as well as the no-dig market garden.
Brian McCarthy’s Rooftop Farm project began last year during lockdown atop his family business Central Floral Supplies, and has been such a success that this week the 34-year-old has been able to open a store on Cork’s busy Cornmarket St.
Writing on Instagram yesterday, McCarthy said: “Thanks to everyone who helped us get to this point! Absolutely delighted to have the farm shop open for business. We’ll be here on Cornmarket street 7 days a week, Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 8am-5pm and Sun 11am-5pm.
“Still a bit more to be finished off and done but we’ll get through that in the coming days and weeks.”
In a video posted yesterday McCarthy said that the store would also be stocking produce from other organic food providers, as well as seeds so customers can grow their own microgreens.
Photos from the store’s official Instagram give a peak inside.
