A Cork garden designer will unveil his Sun Harness Garden at this year’s Bloom

We can’t wait to see his design.
Cork-based German garden designer Hendrik Lepel has been chosen to build one of the show gardens at this year’s Bord Bia Bloom.
Now in its 18th year, the festival of flowers, food and fun, returns to Phoenix Park in Dublin this June bank holiday weekend, when Lepel, who developed a passion for gardening during his permaculture studies in Kinsale, will unveil his creation.
With the support of Minane Bridge company Peppermint Farm Glasshouses, Hendrik has designed The Sun Harness Garden.

An educational space, demonstrating how to create a microclimate within any Irish garden by harnessing the sun’s energy, the plan features a sun-rotating glass pavilion that seamlessly integrates into the design, bridging the gap between indoor comfort and the serenity of the outdoors.
A stone mason, with a background in construction engineering, Hendrik Lepel is renowned for crafting award-winning ovens, which have featured in numerous Bord Bia Bloom show gardens.
Here’s a look at one of his previous projects:

“After collaborating with Bloom designers for many years, Hendrik is excited to bring his own show garden to the festival for the first time and sees it as an opportunity to showcase his creativity and crafting skills.” the organisers told us.
“With a mission to redefine outdoor living, he is dedicated to crafting unique outdoor sanctuaries that transcend functionality and enrich the senses.”
