A celebrated Cork chef is firing up the grill to give fans a free lesson

Got a craving for barbecue?
If you fancy cooking steak (and eating it) like a Brazilian, top chef Victor Franca will be holding a cooking demo this weekend at the Marina Market.
The Brazilian chef and owner of the famed Nua Asador, the barbecue spot that brings all the flavours of South America to the Marina Market, will be cooking at the neighbouring Farmshop on Saturday, November 18th at 12 noon.
If the thought of perfectly grilled steak, crafted in the authentic Brazilian style, makes your taste buds dance, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Victor, a finalist for the prestigious Euro Toques Young Chef of the Year 2022, will showcase his culinary prowess by taking attendees on a gastronomic journey, unveiling the secrets behind his Irish picanha, cooked over fire.

Nua Asador is well-known for its picanha, which they serve with wood fire-grilled baby potatoes, chargrilled onions, a side of artisanal sourdough bread, and their acclaimed chimichurri sauce — a symphony of flavours that promises to transport you straight to the heart of South America.
Nua, of course, means “new” in Irish and also means “naked” in Portuguese. Asador then is the style of cooking over wood coals.
No better excuse for a lunch date.
