5 Cork cafés, pubs and restaurants that are reopening for takeaway this week

By Katie Mythen-Lynch February 2, 2021February 2, 2021

We can all agree that was the longest January on record.

But after a slow start, we’re finally seeing some green shoots appear as part of the Cork food scene’s (latest) recovery.

This week we’re seeing a selection of much-loved local businesses firing up the grills, ovens and coffee machines and kicking off some tentative plans for spring.

Of course, Level 5 restrictions will remain in place until March 5th, 2021, but if any of these are within your 5km travel limit, you won’t be disappointed.

1. Goldbergs

This Docklands bar will be reopening for phone-in and click and collect orders on Thursday, February 4th. With a brand new menu, Goldberg’s will be open on Thursdays and Fridays (3pm-9pm) and Saturdays and Sundays (10am – 9pm) with hot and cold drinks available too.

2. JJ Copingers

JJ Coppinger’s 55 Main Street, Midleton pub is now JJ’s To Go, offering a selection of goodies for takeaway from 10:30am to 5pm daily.

Drop by for teas, coffees, scones, soup and sandwiches to go. They do a mean toasted special too.

3. Cafe Gusto

After an extended Christmas break, Cafe Gusto is back in business on Washington Street and Lapp’s Quay and open for takeaway and delivery. Check out the menu here, they’re taking orders for delivery from 8am via Deliveroo.

Ours is a Flying Bacon sandwich with Emmental and Dijon.

4. Hillbilly’s

Craving a breast in a bun? Hillbilly’s is now serving snack boxes, dinner boxes, fried chicken and gravy in their Mahon Point Shopping Centre location. The Tuesday Special is back too and there’s even a Bunless BLT if you’re going low-carb for February.
